Jumped in the car this morning after yoga and took a mini road trip to Palm Beach- about an hour from Coogee – on Sydney’s Northern Beaches peninsula with a girlfriend. It turned out to be the perfect Sunday!

The Palm Beach Markets at Governor Phillip Park, off Beach Road, are a relaxed, crafty market that take place on varied Sundays during spring/summer.

Jewellery, homemade cushions, rustic furniture, candles, kid’s clothes, fine foods… I came away with a new Panama hat direct from Ecuador, engraved glass jars for storing herbs and spices, and mint-coloured deco straws for sipping juices and smoothies from The Lost & Found Department which was definitely my fave store of the day.

On a hot day, a dip in the ocean is a must, followed by catching a few rays on the golden sand while working up an appetite checking out the local surfers.

When you’re rested and shopped out, like we were, head to Palmy local hangout, The Boat House just a few skips up the road.

The rustic setting offers modern Australian cuisine, market flowers (I had to buy the hydrangeas), deli-style cheeses and breads, great coffee and even better atmosphere. Grab a picnic table and the Sunday papers or simply enjoy the views in every direction.

Happy Sunday. X
