If you’re looking for an organic cafe in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, the recently opened French Press located at 500 Glenmore Road, Edgecliff gets my shout out.
Locally sourced produce shapes a menu with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. They also had organic chicken, duck or beef pies on the specials menu – so don’t fret meat eaters.
If you like your coffee (French Press’s barista serves up The Grounds Roasters) with almond or quinoa milk, they offer it here. As well as tea from fair trade tea blender, Rabbit Hole Organics.
The Provincial haven just moments from Edgecliff Road is a concept brought to life by Janie Dallas-Kelly who is not only a French-trained chef but a naturopath, practitioner of traditional chinese medicine and Air Spa Organics Skincare founder; all of which form the backbone of her holistic approach to food and lifestyle offered at French Press.
Breakfast stops at 11.30, so don’t be tardy. I stopped in as the kitchen was changing over so grabbed a breakfast juice and ordered a tofu stack from the lunch menu. I’ve heard the brekky roll is a hit though – in fact several people walked in and ordered it while I was there only to be told they’d have to roll out of bed a little earlier next time!
